Feasibility of Software development for a POS terminal

Client profile:

A Telecommunication Services company.

The solution:

The project involved the examination of the feasibility of developing a complete new Software Solution into POS terminals and POS Servers. The terminal is uses an  Intel 8051 based processor.

The feasibility study for new software development involved the following steps-
1. Study of the hardware to determine suitable RTOS and detailed specification of on-board memory .
2. A technical document describing the working of the Terminal and its various components is compiled.
3. A program is developed to test  programs  loading  into the terminal.
4.  Determine a suitable  Encryption mechanism.
5. A feature list of the software is developed.
6. Analysis of the technologies to be used.
